Osteosarcoma often occurs around the knee, especially in the distal femur and the proximal tibia. With the progress of chemotherapy and imaging technology and the promotion of limb salvage treatment, limb salvage procedure with neoadjuvant chemotherapy is the priority for the management of osteosarcoma around the knee. However, aseptic loosening of the prosthesis after replacement and lower limb discrepancy are 2 main difficulties in limb salvage for osteosarcoma around the knee. Moreover, for the patients with recurrence and metastasis, how to choose the optimal treatment is still challenging. The multidisciplinary team ( MDT ) consists of surgeons, radiologists, histopathologists, oncologists, clinical nurse specialists, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary team coordinators. The MDT, as a new clinical model at present, plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of osteosarcoma around the knee. It is helpful for developing the optimal treatment, choosing the reasonable surgical method
