[Summary] Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease ( ASCVD) is the leading cause of death and has the largest disease burden in China.Aspirin is the most promising agent for the prevention of ASCVD in such a large population for its easy availability and relative effectiveness , although its use in primary prevention is still a subject of debate.The joint task force has reviewed the current evidence of aspirin use in healthy population and in patients with stable coronary artery disease , acute coronary syndrome , transient ischemic attack, stroke and peripheral artery disease.The consensus statement provides a practical algorithm for identifying those at a high 10-year ASCVD risk, with more than or equal to 10
