The present study was designed for the observation of alteration of plasma colloidal osmotic pressure and osmolarity during rabbit burn shock stage using hypertonic salt solution and balanced salt solution for the first 24 hour resuscitation. Twenty-four animals were randomly divided into three groups. Intravenous infusion of. hypertonic salt solution with sodium content 240 mEq/L and balanced salt solution with sodium condent 130 mEq/L was initiated separately 30 minutes after burning, with a dosage calculated with sodium 1mEq/kg/
